Buckhead.  In 1837, Henry Irby’s general store & tavern stood at the corner of what we now call W. Paces Ferry Road and Roswell Road. The legend is that on post outside the store & tavern was a large buck’s head serving as a marker for the store.  Buckhead was placed on the National Registrar of Historic Places in 1929.   You will find the Governor’s Mansion on W.
