East Lake was established in 1892 and is about 5 miles east of downtown Atlanta and adjoins Oakhurst. Styles of homes are bungalows, post war homes and some new construction. In 1904 the East Lake Golf Club was established. The course was the home course to Bobby Jones and is still used for both regional and national golf tournaments. The current English Tudor Club house was designed by Philip Shutze. For information on East Lake – click here.

Druid Hills was an assemblage of a large tract of land by Atlanta developer Joel Hurt. Hurt hired Olmstead, America’s leading landscape architect whose designs include the Biltmore House, NC & Central Park, NYC. It was to be designed as Olmstead’s “ideal residential suburb”. Many well-known Atlanta architects including Neel Reid, Philip Trammel Shutze, and Lewis Crook, Jr. designed homes in Druid Hills. Located near Emory University and Virginia Highland, you can easily walk to shops & restaurants. Click here for more information.
