East Lake was established in 1892 and is about 5 miles east of downtown Atlanta and adjoins Oakhurst. Styles of homes are bungalows, post war homes and some new construction. In 1904 the East Lake Golf Club was established. The course was the home course to Bobby Jones and is still used for both regional and national golf tournaments.
