Clairemont - Great Lakes is located in Decatur. The historic neighborhood was developed in sections between 1913 and through the 1930’s. Clairemont - Great Lakes neighborhood actually consists of four smaller neighborhoods: the Great Lakes neighborhood, which has streets named after famous lakes; Clairemont Avenue; Clairemont Estates; Emory Acres; and Ponce de Leon Terrace. You will find great places to walk to for shopping, eating and playing - the parks & Decatur Square. Styles include bungalows, four-squares, Dutch Colonial and modern.

Decatur was incorporated in 1823 and named after Stephen Decatur, a naval hero. Decatur is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. One of the few towns in metro Atlanta with a town square in tact - you can visit the Decatur Square where you will find the history center, restaurants, shops and outdoor venues for fireworks and picnics. The City of Decatur has it’s own police department and school system. Outside of the City of Decatur limits - many addresses will still contain Decatur but will be part of Dekalb County. Decatur is large area and there are numerous neighborhoods in Decatur and various architectural styles including bungalows, four squares, modern homes, new construction, townhomes and condos.
